These filters consist of a series reactor and a capacitor connected in series and forms a series resonant circuit. The minimum harmonics frequency in the system is normally the 5th (250Hz) and to some extent lower order harmonics is removed by detuned filter from the system. These filters offer trouble free operation and help to offset the resonance effect.
